Phoenix Nest

Artist and writer Eva Weaver contacted me to create a centrepiece for her home: the dining space the centre of her house. It’s the space where she starts the day, writes and reflects, a place to nourish, to dine and to come together with friends, to banquet!

We discussed different arrangements, a horizontal array to lead you into the room from the open plan living space and settled on the 5 droplet cascade. Eva asked for a flowing piece, like a waterfall with each of the elements conversing and relating to one another. Alongside the striking aesthetic, to be inviting and glow across the open plan space, it is equally important that the light gives a warm and bright light for everyone across the large dining table.

Phoenix Nest Retreats now hosts beautiful writing and creative retreats on the edge of the South Downs in Sussex.
